and those fires haven't even been mentioned on BBC news here in the UK
Hi pdpb, I suppose by comparison with Lebanon etc it is considered not that newsworthy. But the fact is, there are thousands of acres on fire. If you're interested, here's an article on the matter from Helsingin Sanomat, the biggest daily. The article is in English.
